VoCare Integrated Disability & Absence Management
Employees out of work cost business more than employees at work. It’s a fact.
VoCare Services’ Integrated Disability Management (IDM) provides for expanded integration of absence and medical management services to help ensure early as possible return to work of injured employees, whether the absence causing disability is occupational or non-occupational.
Traditional disability management protocol and coverage depends on where the injury occurred. Integrated Disability Management (IDM) doesn’t care. The focus of IDM is simply return to work. With VoCare’s IDM approach there is no duplication of effort, no gaps caused by uncoordinated program implementation, and no costly coverage overlaps.
IDM service begins with a Nurse Case Manager contacting the disabled employee, typically within 24 hours of the injury. The Nurse Case Manager remains the single source of contact for all parties; explains the worker’s benefit package and options; answers questions; details a course of treatment; and explores the projected schedule for the employee’s return to work. The case is handed off to the vocational specialist to arrange and ensure a safe and effective transition back to work.
VoCare’s Integrated Disability Management program is proactive in that it:
- Assists in developing treatment options
- Provides single source coordination for all benefit services
- Empowers the injured worker to participate in treatment options
- Effectively employs data and data analysis to evaluate outcomes
- Embraces regular, consistent communication with all appropriate parties.
For the employee this rapid and coordinated response helps eliminate anxiety caused by the injury and its potential impact on income, while it charts a rapid course for recovery.
For the employer, IDM is an aggressive first step in a highly monitored and coordinated recovery process designed to return a valuable, productive employee to work as soon as possible.
