Marianne Boeing began her career as a Registered Nurse in 1977. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Villa Maria College and her Masters Degree in Nursing from Edinboro State University. A critical care nurse, she has worked in settings that include medical, surgical, and cardiac intensive care units. Having held past positions of staff nurse, critical care supervisor, and clinical educator, Marianne has been able to blend her experiences of patient care, management, and staff education to produce a unique understanding of complex care issues. She has published in the area of critical care nursing.

Marianne has been involved with the development of Life Care Plans since 1995. She completed the curriculum in Life Care Planning through the University of Florida and became a Certified Life Care Planner in 2002. Since that time, she has authored numerous Life Care Plans for individuals throughout the country who have sustained catastrophic injuries or have illnesses that are chronic. As an expert witness, Marianne often provides testimony related to current and future needs of these individuals, as well as the costs associated with meeting these needs. She also provides case management services to these individuals when requested. Marianne presented a case study at the 2007 International Symposium on Life Care Planning regarding the implementation of Life Care Plans.
